Desi Oon Festival 2025
Winter is coming—and so is the 5th edition of the Desi Oon Festival. India produces nearly 75 million kilos of wool every year, much of it unused. If processed, it could create 7.5 million kilometres of yarn, enough to circle the Earth over 180 times. This festival brings that untapped potential into the spotlight.
Hosted by the Centre for Pastoralism (CfP), the festival brings together pastoralists, artisans, designers, and 21+ craft brands to showcase Indian wool from raw fibre to contemporary design and material innovation.
At the heart of the festival is a vibrant marketplace where visitors can shop for their winter wardrobe- handwoven shawls, garments, accessories, toys, home furnishings and much more—all crafted in indigenous wool. It’s the one moment when many diverse wool traditions come together under one roof.
Alongside the marketplace, the festival features exhibits, installations, live felting, and workshops, revealing wool’s growing role in construction, mobility, acoustics, and sustainable product design.
Join us to discover, experience, and take home the many possibilities of Desi Oon.
